Epson Stylus NX625 – OverviewAt about $145 before shipping (at the time of this review), the Epson Stylus NX625 All-In-One (print, copy, and scan) is a great product offering from Epson, according to most owners. The LCD screen on the Epson Stylus NX625 is a decent size, at 2.5-inches, and there are several connectivity options including: USB 2.0, built-in Wi-Fi, ethernet, and a memory card slot (which supports most memory card formats).
Now keep in mind, Epson is still bragging about their “world’s fastest all-in-one” status, as far as being able to print the most pages per minute. Please remember though, that while they may print quickly, their print maximum resolution is not the same quality you would get from a similarly priced Canon All-In-One. The maximum print resolution of this (and many other Epson models) is 5760 x 1440 dots per inch (dpi). The scanning optical resolution offer by the Epson Stylus NX625 is 2400 dpi. The final 3 things worth mentioning regarding the Epson NX625 are that it’s Wi-Fi is certified “n”, which is the newest wireless standard, you can print from your Apple (and Android) device, including your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch, and finally, you can print 2-sided documents automatically (no more manually turning the page over).

The install seems to go fine for most owners, but we recommend installing the printer with a temporarily attached USB cable to hopefully avoid any wireless issues if you doubt your installation skills…and please download the latest drivers from Epson’s website.
-Mac and PC compatible, but some people have had issues with certain features on Mac operating systems, however, we believe these issues to be resolved based on Epson’s advertised support of the following operating systems: Windows® 7, Windows Vista®, Windows XP, Windows XP x64, Mac OS® X 10.4.11, 10.5.8 and 10.6.x

“…My husband’s favorite feature on this printer is automatic two-sided printing. He prints a lot of his school reading at home and it is a waste to print only on one side so now we are saving money on paper and it is printing faster! I will say though we haven’t been able to print two-sided from our Mac yet, but my husband hasn’t had a problem printing from the PC we have. I am not giving up yet but I just haven’t had time to sit down with it…” Cherise Kachelmuss “Mom and More” on Amazon.com
“…So far the printing and scanning have been great. I haven’t tested the copier but I’m sure it will be fine too. My only problem is the product description mentions that this printer has “superior image enhancement tools” which is well and good. Except it’s more like the printer comes with some software that has image enhancement tools. The manual makes no mention of photo enhancement directly from the printer though since you can print PC free from a memory card, it seems likely that there is a way somewhere–I just wish the instruction manual was a bit more comprehensive about these extra features…” Miss Print on Amazon.com
“…There have been a lot of questions about scanning wirelessly. I was able to scan both from my iMac and macbook without any problems. You just have to use the program preview which is on your mac computers anyway. The duplex printing is great. My wife and I also have iphones so there is an epson picture app and another app called printJinni that allows you to print documents, pdfs etc. Both of these apps work great. If you have any additional questions the EPSON online website will have the answer. Overall very happy …” D. P. on Amazon.com
“…this machine so far is awesome! I did some research and it appears that most machines had some issues but this one had the least. Well for the price, I got all I wanted: wireless, duplex printing, scanning and copying. I just hooked it up yesterday and it was really easy. I have a rather old router, a linksys G router, and the wireless set up was easy. I am not techy at all and I followed the instructions and got it done and now am printing wirelessly for the first time in my life. I thought it was pretty cool…” C. W. Lee on Amazon.com
“I just got this printer for school and my research and have a paper that is due. The stupid machine doesn’t come with USB cable to connect to the computer, you need to get it separately. I just moved and haven’t been able to set up my wireless network yet. I think it’s ridiculous that the company is not including the cable…” CE on Amazon.com
“Works with additional app purchase. Advertised as iPhone compatible and not even fine print stating additional app required. Seems like false advertisement to me.”

“…Think carefully about your needs before purchasing the NX625. Other printers are available for nominally more money that incorporate faxing and have a document feeder. Because of the cost of the ink cartridges, I expect the operating cost to be fairly high. The high print speed is its main claim to fame, but, in my opinion, that’s not enough to make up for the other factors…” W. B. Halper on Amazon.com

We highly recommend the Epson Stylus NX625 printer because about 83% of actual owners think it’s great. The Epson Stylus NX625 doesn’t have fax capability, and please remember that you will not receive a USB cable in the box. Other than that, consider the following:
